Everyday Use & Appeal
Primarily grown as an ornamental foliage plant, Monstera adds a lush tropical look to homes, offices, sunrooms, patios, and greenhouse collections. A moss pole, plank, or other sturdy support can help encourage its natural climbing habit.
Fall & Temperature Considerations
Monstera is tropical and not frost tolerant. Outdoor plants should be moved to a protected location before cold temperatures arrive. For best growth, keep plants in warm conditions and avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures below approximately 50°F.
Indoor & Greenhouse Growing
An excellent choice for indoor and protected growing year-round. Provide bright, indirect light, warmth, moderate humidity, and good airflow. Heated greenhouses can provide an ideal environment during cooler months.
Quick Growing Tips
Plant in a well-draining, airy potting mix and allow the upper portion of the mix to begin drying between waterings. Avoid constantly saturated soil. As the plant matures, provide sturdy support if you want to encourage larger climbing growth.
🌱 Live Plant Disclaimer
Plants are living products and naturally vary in size, leaf shape, coloration, fenestration, and overall appearance. Younger Monsteras may not yet have split/fenestrated leaves; these typically develop with maturity and appropriate growing conditions. Growth rate and mature appearance depend on light, temperature, nutrition, container size, support, and individual growing conditions.
